Lending Settings

Set Lending Due Date (owner sets) allows you to change the default due date by setting how many days after item is checked out before it is due. Changing lending due dates affects all dates moving forward, and does not change past due dates.

Patron Email Reminder (owner sets) lets you choose to remind patrons of an upcoming/past due date via email. You can choose to remind them anywhere from 1 to 9 days before the item is due. You may also set up to three past-due reminder emails anywhere from 1 to 9 days after the item was set to be due. Submitting no value will prevent that patron reminder email from being sent out.

Allow Patrons to Place Holds grants patrons the ability to place a hold on an item in a published library. A patron will need to have an email address on their record in order to place holds. Patrons will automatically be emailed when an item becomes available (if it is checked out at the time).

You may also disallow specific libraries from allowing patrons to place holds on the published library page.

Allow Patrons to Self Checkout grants patrons the ability to checkout any available items in a published library. A patron will need to have an email address on their record in order to checkout an item. Availability of an item is determined by the amount of current checkouts and holds against the number of copies of that item.

You may also disallow specific libraries from allowing patrons to place checkouts on the published library page.

Patron Account Page creates a login button on your published library page for patrons to view and edit their personal information. It will also have information about their currently checked out items, items they have placed holds on (which they can release), and a recent history of past checked out items. The Patron Account Page support page has more information.

Additionally, when the Patron Account Page is turned on, you have the option to allow your patrons to place a renewal on any active checked out item. The renewal will be for the same amount of days as designated in the “Set Lending Due Date” section, and will add that time to the current due date. A patron will not be able to place a renewal if there is a hold on the item, nor will they be able to renew an item more than once.

Your Email Notification for Patron Holds lets you choose the libraries you’d like to receive an email notification from when a patron places an item on hold.

Kiosk self-checkout for Patrons lets you tweak the kiosk settings. There are two kiosks available: A web kiosk, and a kiosk app which is available for iOS and Android. These settings allow you to turn on the web kiosk, determine password settings for patrons (shared or individual passwords), and to turn off sharing for specific libraries. Export Patrons (.csv) allows you to export all the patrons into a comma separated values (csv) file.
