Settings

Settings let you change a range of options for your library, as well as make some additional changes.

Click on any of the headers to expand and choose from the available options.

ACCOUNT

Change your country will make the backend of libib do a different database lookup when searching for items. The databases we look in for India are different than the databases we look in for the United Kingdom. If you  aren't getting good results from your country, try switching to the United States, as it typically has the largest database. The reason you might not want to do this, is the meta-data will often be wrong. The publisher in the UK is not always the same as the one in the US.

[PRO]
Change Organization Account owner can change the name of their organization here. If the pro account is a single user account, we recommend using an identifiable name. The organization name is often sent out for Patron reminder emails, such as hold availability and due dates.

Change email lets you to update your email address.

Change password lets you update your password.

Change username

Change Image (Gravatar) Libib users Gravatars for your personal icons/avatars. Gravatars are avatars that are tied to your email address. Essentially you upload an image as your avatar that gets attached to your email address. Now any site that uses the Gravatar service will display that image as your icon. Many sites use Gravatars, including WordPress, StackOverflow and GitHub. If you do not have a Gravatar, they are simple, safe, and fast to create: https://gravatar.com

Delete Account will completely remove your account from our system. All libraries, all notes, tags, etc... will be removed from our system and is unrecoverable. Deleting an account does not remove you from our mailing list (this is a separate system and they are not connected). Unsubscribe from our newsletter to get removed from the mailing list.

[PRO]
Delete Account In addition to the info above, when an owner deletes their account, billing will end (no new charges will occur), and all accounts underneath are removed from Libib as well.

LIBRARIES

Hide notes and descriptions allows you to hide your notes and descriptions on your home library page. This comes in handy if you simply want a cleaner look on your detailed list page. The notes and descriptions are still available when you go to edit them, or search on them, but are otherwise hidden.

Export library (.csv) allows you to choose any of your libraries and export them to a comma separated values (csv) file. You can only export one library at a time, and they will exist as separate files.

[PRO]
Export barcodes (.csv) allows you to export a list of auto-generated EAN13 compatible barcodes (or your own custom barcodes if you have edited) for each copy of every item in a library. The export contains a subset of the information in the "Export a library" file, in a de-normalized format. The primary purpose of this export is to create labels.

Set default status allows you to automatically set an item's status when it is added. If every book you add is created after you've read it,  you can set the default to "Completed" and every item you add will register as completed. This affects all libraries.

Delete a library will delete the libraries you choose. This is unrecoverable. If you delete a library, it, along with all the items in the library, are deleted forever.

[PRO]

LENDING

Set Lending Due Date (owner sets) allows you to change the default due date by setting how many days after item is checked out before it is due. Changing lending due dates affects all dates moving forward, and does not change past due dates.

Patron Email Reminder
(owner sets) lets you choose to remind patrons of an upcoming/past due date via email. You can choose to remind them anywhere from 1 to 9 days before the item is due. You may also set up to three past-due reminder emails anywhere from 1 to 9 days after the item was set to be due. Submitting no value will prevent that patron reminder email from being sent out.

Allow Patrons to Place Holds
grants patrons the ability to place a hold on an item in a published library. A patron will need to have an email address on their record in order to place holds. Patrons will automatically be emailed when an item becomes available (if it is checked out at the time).

Allow Patrons to Self Checkout grants patrons the ability to checkout any available items in a published library. A patron will need to have an email address on their record in order to checkout an item. Availability of an item is determined by the amount of current checkouts and holds against the number of copies of that item.

Patron Account Page creates a login button on your published library page for patrons to view and edit their personal information. It will also have information about their currently checked out items, items they have placed holds on (which they can release), and a recent history of past checked out items. The Patron Account Page support page has more information.

Your Email Notification for Patron Holds lets you choose the libraries you'd like to receive an email notification from when a patron places an item on hold.

Kiosk self-checkout for Patrons lets you creates a kiosk URL for patrons to self-checkout. This option requires custom barcodes along with a physical barcode scanner. It works similarly to a standard checkout kiosk, in that a patron must have the item in hand and be able to scan it out. See Kiosk page for more details.
